Belgian corporate restroom

In close cooperation with Sir Fatty Photography – a multi-artistic collective specialised in paparazzi photography and intense food intake – we have the pleasure to present another series featuring our favourite representative of the Belgian business sector. Contrary to popular belief, successful people also need to relieve themselves. A tradition in the Belgian corporate environment (and a ‘must’ after business lunches with foreign partners in order to show them the best parts of the Kingdom of Belgium) is to use preselected venues adhering to strict hygienic standards in the public environment. Preferably a church. In central Brussels at peak hour after lunch you have to wait 10 minutes in the line to water these popular places. It is worth it though. Nonetheless, some (including our Belgian friend) has VIP-access to a private lane.

The art of being odd

Some people are very lonely. Odd behaviour or strange accessories may be a way to attract some attention. In miserable cases, however, this does not have a significant impact. You may just as well be ignored despite this serious attempt to make people pay attention to you. The Eurodecadence team witnessed such an example in the metro the other day.

Rue du Page – Back in Brussels

We are back in Brussels after an aestival tour around Europe in quest of decadence. Being back, it is however once more obvious that this is the true centre of European decadence. A glimpse of a scene just outside our headquarters below. Good being back!

ÜBERPRÄTENTIÖS

There are several ways to approach life. You can wait for it to come and feel miserable about it drinking green tea and staring into the rain. You can wiggle through and feel happy about the minor achievements you made in your everyday life. But there is also a way that does not even condescend to remark the previous with a compassionate smile: seizing every opportunity to signal society that past, present and future of the planet's evolution comes down to your own free will. It's not about asking anymore it's about letting people understand that they represent the weaker link. Who can resist these sparkling persons and their abundance of followers?

Belgian corporate

Trying to succeed in the harsh business environment of Belgium is not easy.

But the tough struggle is just half way to the fun. Once you make it to the top, you'll be able to live the extravagant corporate life:

Looking down from the peak of society you enjoy the hard-earned privileges of convenient outsourced cleaning, opulent business lunches and custom-made transport solutions. Always ready for launching the best tender and charming networking chats while having a glass of the regional brew. You might have access to one of those mobile phones that you can bring wherever (although the coverage not is very good in rural Brussels which forces you to climb your suitcase to get the latest news from the stock exchange). Preferably living in Charleroi: Belgium's answer to Nirvana.

Eurodecadence + Albanian ladies = true

The Eurodecadence staff just had an Albanian experience and from now on likes Albanian girls. On a Saturday afternoon walk in Saint-Gilles we bumped into a few girls at Albaniëstraat who just came back from shopping. Materialistic, happy, classy. Expensive habits.

Apparently they found it exotic with decadent company, and we were invited to their beautiful house and garden. Here they dressed in ‘home clothes’, showing more grungy parts of their wardrobes. They danced in the garden to bad music in some kind of Desperate Housewives manner. Finally they turned out to be not as desperate as one could hope, but champagne was free. Thus, the Eurodecadence crew liked it.

Beautiful girls and Mister Rull-CG

During a weekend trip we passed by a countryside wedding in central Germany a few days ago. Before hitchhiking back to Brussels we enjoyed the festivities for two nights. Whereas most people made photos of the wedding couple, the Eurodecadence team focused on a few cute girls, and in particular a peculiar mister, who most of the time sat alone, laughing and rolling cigarettes. “Mister rull-CG”: Summerish, European and decadent comme il faut.
